The aim of this symposium is to underline the rapid progress obtained in optoelectronics domain in the last years. These progresses had and have a strong impact on the economical and social life, especially on micro-technologies, automation of industrial processes, measuring and control equipment  etc. There is practically no field of social and economic life that has not benefited from the results of research in this domain.

The optoelectronics domain and informatics are very large. We propose herewith to discuss some specific aspects regarding modern trends in optoelectronics and aspects of the international cooperation in the field of optoelectronics.

Are expected contributions informatics & computer science, optoelectronic equipment, applications, recent developments in the field, materials for optoelectronics, optical engineering, lasers and their applications, components, technologies in optoelectronics, optoelectronic devices, optoelectronics in medicine and analytical instrumentation, remote sensing technologies and other photonic applications.

The purpose of the Optoelectronics Symposium is to provide the opportunity to share experience and information for experts working in the optoelectronics domain, the possibility to discuss the newest achievements and their potential applications, the inducement of interdisciplinary research.

The Symposium will be organised in:

o        Plenary session

o        Poster session

o        Optoelectronic equipments, devices and applications

o        Technologic transfer in optoelectronics, project management and international cooperation

o        Round table "Development strategies for optoelectronics and international cooperation"

The organization of The Optoelectronics Symposium has been possible only through joint action and support of several institutions, such as: S.C. OPTOELECTRONICA 2001 S.A, Romanian Society of Optoelectronics, University "Titu Maiorescu ",  and Ministry of Education, Research and Youth.

We do hope that the participants to the 8th  "Optoelectronics Symposium" will fully enjoy the scientific sessions and the time spent during this event. We also believe that this symposium will provide an opportunity to renew friendships or to start new ones
